I'm planning to try 21.2, 21.8, 22.4, and 23.0 grain increments using H335 to see what has the best capabilities and then fine tune from there. Hodgdon shows 22.0 grains to 24.0 grains and Sierra shows 21.2 grains to 23.8 grains, both using H335 powder. Both Sierra and Hodgdon are close on the minimum and maximum loads however Hodgdon's data uses a 24" 1:12 proof barrel whereas the Sierra data uses a 20" 1:7 Colt AR-15. I would prefer to stick with the same powder however Varget seems to be the "Go To" powder for this bullet so I'm also willing to give that a chance. I presently use two types of powder, Ramshot TAC and Hodgdon H335 but I also normally shoot much lighter bullets (53 to 55 grains). Scope: Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50 FFP 24x Gun: Rock River Arms LAR-15 in 5.56x45 caliber It's my gun and my hands and my life and I'm not really in the mood to throw any of that away to save a few minutes and a few bullets. Regardless of the advice given I will ALWAYS start low and work my way up. I never, EVER start with the maximum charge and work my way down so nobody has to concern themselves with that aspect. I'm hoping to get some loaded this week and take them to the range next weekend to see what they will do and could use some advice on them as well. One thing that was common was to try some 69 grain Match Kings and I finally got around to ordering some yesterday. cells marked in yellow are not dangerous but indicate possible (but not necessary) suboptimal characteristics such as extensive muzzle flash or inaccurate loads.ĪDI AR 2206H, ADI AR 2207, ADI AR 2208, ADI AR 2219, Accurate 2015, Accurate 2200, Accurate 2230, Accurate 2460, Accurate 2495, Accurate 2520, Accurate 4064, Alliant AR-Comp, Alliant Reloder-7, Alliant Reloder-10x, Alliant Reloder-15, Hodgon BL-C2, Hodgon Benchmark, Hodgon CFE BLK, Hodgon H322, Hodgon H335, Hodgon H4198, IMR 3031, IMR 4064, IMR 4198, IMR 4227, IMR 4895, IMR 8208 XBR, Lovex D073.4, Lovex D073.5, Lovex D073.I started a thread on 53gr Sierra Match Kings through my AR back on Christmas Day ( Link Here) and as always got some stellar advice. max pressure of load in percent of the maximum allowed pressure for this caliber 224 | 69gr | Sierra HPBT MatchKing bullet.
